What Being a Slow Runner Taught Me About Sustainable Productivity

I’m a slow runner. Not "slow for a beginner" (I’ve run two marathons). I’m just... slow.

It used to bother me. Like the workplace, the running world often praises speed—the illusion of productivity—above everything else.

But to become a stronger runner, you must run slowly, especially on easy days. It’s how your body adapts, your heart rate settles, and your stamina builds. If you push too hard, too often, you get injured and burn out.

Sound familiar?

It's all about sustainable productivity.

You need effort, of course, but also recovery, consistency, and a pace that works for you. Not just one that looks good to the rest of the world.

I'm strong and consistent.

Slow isn’t a weakness. It’s a strategy.
