Do You Have a Kairos Ritual?

According to Merriam-Webster, kairos means “a time when conditions are right for accomplishing a crucial action”.

In her book Tiny Experiments, Anne-Laure Le Cunff introduces the idea of Kairos Rituals: small but intentional acts that mark the start of something important.

These rituals don’t need to be grand or complicated.

They’re simply a way to shift your energy and mindset; a signal to start.

Here are some of my Kairos Rituals:

  • Stepping outside to breathe and stretch.

  • Switching from sitting to standing at my desk.

  • Lighting a candle.

  • Taking a moment for breathwork.

These small actions help me move out of autopilot and into a more present, focused state.
