My Top 12 Doodles of 2025

A hand-drawn illustration featuring the number 12 in a bold, rounded font. The numbers are filled with a brown and black leopard print pattern. The name Martine Ellis is written in small, simple capital letters at the bottom right of the number two.

As 2025 comes to a close, I have spent some time looking back on the year through my doodles to select some of my favourites.

I produced 150 doodles this year, so picking my top 12 was a challenge. While a couple were chosen for the artwork, most were chosen for the message they convey. I encourage you to read the short essays that accompany each one. You might find it helpful to bookmark them if you do not have time to read them all in one go. You can click the images in the gallery or use the list of links below.

Until I counted them, I did not realise how many doodles I created this year. I plan to be less prolific in 2026. This is a conscious shift to prioritise quality over quantity. Doodling remains an enjoyable way for me to share ideas, so there is undoubtedly more to come, but I want to ensure my output remains sustainable.

I hope you enjoy this roundup. Happy holidays.
