To Do or Not To Do? That is the Question
It’s time to focus. What do you do first?
Most of us start by deciding what we want to focus on—where to put our time and energy. We try to identify the most important task.
But perhaps focus doesn’t start with deciding what to do. Maybe it starts with deciding what NOT to do. They sound the same, but there's a subtle difference.
When there’s too much on your plate, it’s hard to see clearly. If you create space by deleting, delegating, or deferring what doesn’t need your attention today, it's easier to identify your true priority.
You can give your full attention to only one thing at a time (your priority—singular, not plural), so it makes sense to choose carefully. And that choice becomes clearer when you first remove what doesn’t belong.
This isn’t about avoiding work or putting things off. It’s about being deliberate. When you clear the decks first, you make better use of your limited time and energy.
Focus feels different when you start this way.
