Check Your Stress Bucket

The stress bucket is a useful metaphor.

Imagine you have a bucket. Stress pours in from the top; things like work deadlines, life admin, family pressures, change, and uncertainty.

If too much goes in too quickly, the bucket overflows. That might show up as irritability, anger, overwhelm, or even burnout.

But there’s a tap at the bottom that releases stress. That tap, for me, is rest.

Rest doesn’t have to mean a week off or a perfect evening routine. It can be small things like:

  • Going for a walk.

  • Turning off notifications.

  • Doing something creative.

  • Talking with a friend.

  • Sitting in silence.

The key is making sure the tap is open often enough.

Please check your bucket today.
