Rest is an Act of Kindness to Others

Rest is often seen as something we take for ourselves.

But have you ever noticed the effect it has on others?

When you’re rested, you’re usually calmer, more patient, and easier to be with. You’re also sending a quiet signal to those around you: it’s okay to slow down, too.

Rest isn’t indulgent. It’s contagious. It creates a ripple effect: when one person pauses, others feel permission to pause as well.

So the next time you catch yourself pushing through exhaustion, remember: choosing rest is not only an act of kindness to yourself. It’s an act of kindness to others.
