Three Reasons Why You Shouldn't Reply to Emails Immediately

I need to be honest: my email habits have slipped lately.

Turning off notifications doesn’t seem to be enough anymore. I still find myself diving into my inbox, firing off quick replies.

This post is a note to self, as much as it is a gentle nudge for you.

Constantly checking and replying to emails might feel productive, but it drains our time, focus, and energy.

When we reply immediately, we’re:

  1. Training people to expect instant replies.

  2. Breaking focus.

  3. Not giving ourselves time to respond well.

Instead, let’s aim to check email a few times daily on our terms.

I’d love to know your thoughts.
