The Pomodoro Technique

The Pomodoro Technique is one of my favourite methods for staying focused and productive.

This is how to do it:

  • Work for 25 minutes.

  • Take a 5-minute break.

  • Repeat four times, then take a longer break.

Do everything possible to remove distractions during each Pomodoro so you can quickly get into a state of flow.

All you need is a timer. You can use a kitchen or phone timer, a browser-based tool like Pomofocus, or an app like Forest.

Why not give it a try? Start with one Pomodoro and see how much you can get done.
